Can I extract just one page?
Yes. Select the page in the grid and choose "Extract selection", or type its number into the range box.
What does splitting at bookmarks do?
If the PDF has an outline, each top-level bookmark becomes the start of a new file, which is usually one file per chapter.
Do the split files keep the original quality?
Yes. Pages are copied across whole, with their fonts and images intact. Nothing is re-encoded or re-compressed.
